That is the guranteed hours, FA are certainly allow to pick up more trips other than those in the line.

It is basically same for any airline if you have that much senority. Bid and hold the line with the longest flight also with the longest layover (HKG/PEK/PVG, but not NRT) so that you don't need to fly all the time, better to your health as well.

For other airlines like SQ and CX, the ISM work the longest with the company, they don't even need to do serve pax other than just hanging around, greet people, make the announcement occasionally, and do the paper work that's all.
