The person wouldn't be both a UA FA and UA pilot for sure, but they can certainly be a private pilot, many of those choose to do other stuff like to be a part time teacher, selling makeup, etc.
Are those really the conditions under which United FAs work? Hang round for 30 years and then you only need to fly three trips a month? Geez, no wonder the service is pants and United is having trouble making money.
I'll vote for whichever party promises to break the back of the FA unions, ensuring a return to weight rules, age rules, looks rules and gender rules for stewardesses.
On the subject of *this* particular FA, however, I'm gonna assume he was a passenger rather than an FA on the ORD-HKG flight, or else how would he have been able to pose as a pilot?
On the whole, however, I think this whole thread is pointless. The original poster only wanted to name and shame this particular dude, and since the name is gone all we're left with is the insinuation that at least one male United FA is going around pretending to be a pilot to pick up chicks. Which is no surprise, because hey, who wouldn't?
