Don't you know many senior FA (30 years+) have side jobs ? Or they couldn't be a pilot for fun ? If a person can hold HKG-ORD, that person is senior enough he only needs to pick up 3 trips in a month and that's it. What are they going to do in the downtime ?
The person wouldn't be both a UA FA and UA pilot for sure, but they can certainly be a private pilot, many of those choose to do other stuff like to be a part time teacher, selling makeup, etc.
