It's going to be different for everyone and I think it depends on your travel plans for the next year. For us, we plan on going back to Switzerland next year and if not there, probably stay at some other international Hilton.

Having access to the executive lounge at most international hotels is worth it to us, but if we were just going to be traveling in the USA, we would not waste our time trying to reach diamond on hotel stays.
