Credit card info should never be emailed as emails can easily be hacked into and information stolen. Fax is the 2nd safest way to transmit CC information, the best way is over the phone. I'm surprised you didn't call and provide a different CC but I can understand why, since you didn't have to worry about getting charged with the CC that was on file
