REASON??? It's the end of the the Chinese New Year holiday season which stretches for 2 weeks beginning on Feb 9th (actual day began on Feb 12th). There was a mass exodus from HKG to anywhere - butmostly the 'astronaunts' were just leaving for homebased-families in the USA/Canada.

'Astronaunts' are people who have families in USA and Canada and they themselves work and live in HK. They travel frequently to North America to be with their familes and any extended long holidays will be fine.

Hence the extremely dire state of availability on most flights to HKG between now and end of feb.
