I'm not going to ruin some stranger's career, create a police record, etc. over a little dope. But I don't like the smell, I don't want it on my clothes or in my room -- any more than I want the smell of a backed-up toilet around me -- and I would ask the front desk to move me to another room. Any more action than that is up to the hotel.

Like trying to turn back the tide with a teaspoon. Most police departments won't even take such a call. Minor marijuana use is about on the level of a parking ticket, infraction-wise.

Do you guys understand the meaning of "slander"? It's lying. You're not vulnerable to a slander charge if you're telling the truth. That said, it's not worth creating such legal trouble for people who are probably perfectly benign.
