You'll have a very long wait. AA will only start flying its own metal to HKG if oneworld folds and it no longer has a marketing agreement with CX. It pulled back from the Pacific [including Australia and New Zealand], save for Japan, due to NW and UA's domination, and the strong presence of even DL in that part of the world, after the latter picked up most of the former PanAm authorities and aircraft. AA's overseas push went into the NAtlantic and SAmerica. It goes for high margin routes, not ones where discounting runs rampant and their is an enormous cost of entry.
