I do have a follow up question for star_world or anyone else who may know about this :
In addition to supplementary documents in the form of hotel confirmations, we are also required to mention where we will be staying in our application forms - which means they will have this information in their system.
Meanwhile, visitors are required to touch base with a local police station within 8 days of stay. (This is for passport copies, I believe, and from what I understand, hotels take care of this). But this means that they now have the hotels we actually ended up staying in on file.
Would the obvious difference between what we stated in our application form, and the hotels we actually stayed in get us into trouble with the authorities?
Thanks a lot for taking the time to answer my questions!
When you change hotels -- that is, book the place you will stay on miles -- notify the Consulate.
Back in the day, this was done on slips of paper and would have taken 3 years to catch up. Not so now.
