Is it worth it then to spend 60,000 miles?

I can price out a YFC-LHR,LHR-YYZ ticket at $789 all in on Oct.26-Nov.3 (PM me if interested on how to make it work). You would then need to just buy a one-way to YFC from YYZ on your desired date. or you can price it out for $1086 with the stopover all on one ticket.


Aeroplan ticket 60000 miles + $589 surcharges (I am assuming thats surcharges and taxes?) (+ revenue cost of about 8000 miles not earned on reward)
Revenue ticket = $1089 all in

basically you are spending 68000 miles to save $500 in cash,
a terrible return of 0.7 cents/mile - may as well get toasters!
