Auberge

WE have had some good stays and some not so good stays at Enchantment, the property is big and you can get lost when a large group is there, but the setting is amazing

We prefer to stay in the cottages in Auberge and have them arrange massage services for you in suite or outside by the river, it was spectacular when we did that.

While The Sanctuiary and Palm's are amazing you may want to check out Lon's Hermosa Inn in Paradise Valley. It is a great choice if you are looking for small luxury with easy shopping and great dining nearby and on site.

We stayed there in May and the rooms are impecably done....had an 800 square foot suite with huge pedestal batthtub for less than $400 a night, booked again in October for $450 pn with a $100 dining credit. Service was perfect, no huge pool or family entertainment but a small pool and two jacuzzis were perfect for us, there were maybe three other people at the pool each day.

Local therapist came in an gave us massages before dinner each evening and we had dinner outside under the stars each night on the patio

No exercise facility but we went for great runs in the adjoining neighborhood and we were perfectly safe. Also did a hike up Camelback on Sunday morning and the hotel dropped us off and picked us up, just good local service. My wife did a full day at The Camelback Spa and she raved about it, it was less than 5 miles away

If you really want Scottsdale I would choose the Four Seasons over most of the properties, especially over The Boulders and Fairmont. The Canyon suites at The Phoenician are very nice and the resort still has a great feel to it, even though like Enchantment if you catch it when a convention or large group has hit is can be a disaster.
