First of all thank you for your quick response...Sadly I moved out of the hotel yesterday because I couldn’t justify to my company the 100 EURO increase in rate and checked in at the Radisson with a corp rate..
Please allow me to summarize to you the whole experience in the following FAIR points:
1- I paid the Best available rate for that 1 Night and didn’t pay the rate on my reservation!! Although the agent from IHG Care on the phone advised me to just check in and forget about whatever rate they will give me, I still paid the Hotel's rate.
2- I was also told that someone was going to call me yesterday to discuss and settle this matter but sadly nobody did. I do understand that investigation takes some time but time was not on my side this time and dude to the fact that the Lady Gloria kept assuring me IHG Care or central reservation will not help me and I shouldn’t bother calling them I couldn’t risk it anymore as i was on a business trip
3- The "Front desk Manager" or maybe the "Reservation Manager" is still lying and told me the Hotel didn’t cancel any reservation. As mentioned earlier her name is Gloria..if you have to be at this hotel, ignore here you might be lucky and have a good stay. She is the one causing all the problems in this Hotel.
4- Of course the rate problem and the idea of cancellation without telling the guest is very important but the overall service, ignorance and atmosphere are really not even HIX standards
5- Even the person serving in the restaurant, who sees me for the first time acts in a way that he almost throws the cups and plates on the table if you ask him for ones ?!! Don’t be surprised, this is the kind of service you get in this hotel and it doesn’t matter if its in the restaurant, the front desk, the housekeeping or whatsoever departments they have.
6- This hotel needs security or door men and I explained earlier why
7- They lied to me again when they moved to me to the only available room with malfunctioning AC and later on I found it wasn’t the only one
8- This hotel is managed by 4-5 people. (These are the people I saw and who have introduced themselves as managers to us). Most of the employees don’t carry name tags or tags showing the position they are holding therefore I cannot confirm that whoever I talked with is a real manager of anything. You see you don’t get the feeling that there is department somewhere and a real manager will come down from his office to assist you.
Its a very weird hotel and if you need to go to that area switch to the Crowne plaza Republique.. That’s what you call an IHG hotel in Paris
IHG you should really check online websites like TA and check the reviews of this “MOTEL” I’m not the only one who suffered. You guys should really take some actions with them.
Regards,
The experience you had was certainly not what you might expect from any hotel.
But, after reading some other people's comments on the hotel, I am not quite sure that your experience reflects the global quality of the hotel.

PS: the only two times I had issues at check-in (room booked non available, which is for me the fist promise a hotel shall respect), I just called - in front of the manager on duty - the Ambassador line and ask them to solve the issue (once I was transferred at no cost to another IHG property, the other time the hotel finally found the type of room booked available). I am suprised that they could not solve the problem this way.
