Hey guys. I'm the OP of the following thread from earlier this year.
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/pract...ge-search.html
Needless to say, I was AGAIN singled out by CBP when trying to clear Customs.
It happened just yesterday. This time I flew into Boston Logan from Amsterdam Schiphol.
After clearing Immigration at BOS, I went downstairs to the baggage claim area. As I was collecting my luggage, a CBP officer walked right up to me and escorted me to a conveyer belt, where he took apart the contents of my baggage and carry-ons.
This is the same type of thing that happened to me during my layover at ATL. Only this time, I got singled out well before I tried to leave the baggage claim area.
I can't believe this happened to me for the second time in a year. On both occasions, I KNOW I wasn't acting suspicious. So I don't know why CBP officers keep singling me out.
I'd like to add that I've never had this problem re-entering the US from Canada. And I didn't have this problem when I flew from Sydney to LAX last winter.
Am I being singled out because of the fact that I'm Asian-American and brown-skinned?
Why do you guys think CBP officers keep singling me out?
I'm becoming more and more reluctant to fly across the Atlantic and Pacific.
