FYI - Both Cathay Pacific MARCO POLO CLUB and British Airways EXECUTIVE CLUB deposit your award miles into ASIAMILES in Asia. Meaning if you have an asian address, BAEC will transfer your membership to Asia. Your tier points will transfer over but I think you might lose your award points as I don't think it can be transferred to AsiaMiles. If they do, then you'd lose out on awards as Asiamiles require more points for their awards.

However, Asiamiles do permit upgrades on certain airlines which BAEC do not permit - like CX, and BA!
