This is my first time to India so I do not know the lay of the land so to speak.
I would rather not pay the $220+ for the ITC via SPG.com. Due to the cautions I've received I'm only booking my hotels through the hotels portal, not a third party that's why I thought I'd ask in this thread. My friends from Del will be there as well,however they told me to book my hotel as they always find something upon arrival... I need the security of having something booked!
Would it be worth the $$ to keep the 'luxury' room? Seems pricey to me as I can get the Radisson for 1/2 of this.

I have had this issue in the past also, but here is how you get around it. This hotel and others block out award rooms even though they should be available therefore you must escalate the issue with SPG and you will see that magically one room will be given to you. It takes some effort but eventually they will budge. I stayed there last December (peak season) so you should be fine as long as they are rooms available. Property is mediocre but for India is pretty nice. I suggest you check out the Spa which has its own swimming pool area, it is truly nice and worth it imo. Although be prepared to pay western prices for it.
