I agree - I know I'm not the typical business traveler but I check my bags all the time. I average around 150k - 200k miles per year - always check. Sure a few times they've missed a connection but have shown up on the next flight. I do plan appropriately keeping a change of clothes in carryon depending on length of flight and destination.
