My experience is that you can do it with no major risk, which is not to guarantee that your bag will be there when you arrive. Overwhelming chances are that it will.

My rules for this are simple:

- NEVER let a bag connect in Africa, Venezuela, India, Romania or CDG (in CDG, EITHER connection is too short for bag to follow, OR it is long enough for bag thieves to get into it). Reportedly, it is the same thing in BUH.

- AVOID letting bags interline anywhere except in Switzerland, Germany, Singapore and Hong Kong

- Special case for LHR: Get your bag on arrival, transfer manually with HEX and recheck. If you have more than 5 hours, you MAY (but why would you ?) ignore this.

Since you are in none of these cases, your odds are good. Still, pack the basic necessities into a carry-on
