schedule change on LAN award: how do I get comparable flights?

Over the years, I've had numerous problems booking award travel on LAN with my Aadvantage miles, but my latest problem is perhaps the most ridiculous.

I'm connecting on LAN from JFK to PUQ (Punta Arenas, Chile) through SCL on award seats. There's been a schedule change -- seeming caused by an earlier miscalculation of the switch back to standard time -- so I would now miss my original 2 hour connection. LAN "thoughtfully" rebooked me on a 12 hour SCL connection, instead of rebooking me on a new 2 hour connection (there are many SCL-PUQ flights each day, so making a normal connection isn't troublesome -- at least when it comes to the flight schedule).

The AA rep I spoke to today was skeptical about getting LAN to put me on the better (aka rational) connection, but said she would submit it to their "partner liaison desk." If they don't help me (and they haven't before), what can I do to get reasonably reaccomodated? The last time I had silly AA/LAN award issues, I had to escalate it to Oneworld to get someone to fix the problem. There's got to be an easier way, no? This problem is simply absurd.
