It's really inconsistent. I find that they start service from the front, regardless of if it's an odd or even flight, more often than not, but follow the correct order on the odd flights just often enough to make choosing a seat in Row 1 a crapshoot in terms of securing choice of meal. On the plus side, there really don't seem to be any real dogs amongst the meal choices so it's not like when they'd run out by row 2 and you'd be stuck with Sad Pork Chop.
