What's the good word on CX889/888?

I was stranded in NY when Cathay cancelled my flight on August 17. If I didn't use the Notiflyer service from their website I would have never known! The only option they gave me was going to JFK changing my ticket then getting a taxi to EWR to fly America West to PHX before getting to YVR, my final destination. I told then to go stuff it and got a friend to get me an Air Canada aeroplan miles ticket on UA/AC.

However, I still have my CX ticket which I plan to use at a later date the next time I go to YVR. I know they are having problems with the pilots, but is this flight still being cancelled regularly.

When I was at YVR, I saw a CX 747 sitting nice and dark on the tarmac for about 3 days.

Just want to know if anyone has any inside info. Thanks!
