This whole scenario makes me wonder why a gate agent would do anything other than let the computer do its thing and they just follow "the list". If it was their friend etc I might get it but for a perfect stranger? I am sure they mostly think it will go un detected but do they not notice how the pax monitor the upgrade list and their place on it? Just neer understood why they would risk getting in trouble.
He did it because he had no idea anyone was looking... doubtful he'd do it again if he knew a couple CPs was overseeing the misguided transaction.
