The difference is that instead of the booking being made in dollars, which will result in a credit card surcharge plus a dreadful exchange rate determined by the credit card company, the fare is converted into GBP prior to sale and the transaction goes through in GBP.
So potentially a reasonable saving.
Also, does the issuance of tickets through that site result in a UK point of sale? If so, UK law governs the contract of carriage.
