I'll throw another experience in here. I bought and tried the Travelrest pillow on a flight ORD-PVG a couple years ago. I think if one is a side sleeper and can get the pillow situated comfortably by wrapping the strap around oneself, it can work. I found it a bit tricky but do-able to secure the strap around me but couldn't get it to work comfortably with the strap wrapped around the seat. Ultimately, I found the inflatable neck pillow by Obus Forme to be more comfortable but that's probably just personal preference.
