Lastly, I would always go online to make sure that the booking is present on the other carrier and then call to confirm that both the booking and ticket are present as well. absolutely agree! I always do this even on simple award itineraries on US or AC using CO miles. (or any carrier using points on a different carrier), plus much of the time you can't get a seat assignment without calling the operating carrier anyway.
