Agreed. However, if this is your first time in Amsterdam I would take the train from the Airport to Amsterdam Centraal. This way, you will be able to buy a tram pass from the ticket centre across from central station. The tickets are 24h, 48h or 72h and aer very good value.

The hotel is quite a walk away from the centre of town so you be using the trams a lot.

By taking the initial tram from Centraal, you will get a good understanding of where things are in the city prior to arriving at Apollolaan.

Be sure to check out the Exec Lounge on the top floor. Cycle hire is also FREE for HHonors (think its Diamond and Gold only though).
