Yesterday my TA tried booking a CX-QF connection at HKG with a 55 min connect time and the system would not accept it. Now we are looking at 6 hours in HKG. Mrs Dben will be fine as there are a lot of new items at Prada, Chanel and Hermes.
Might end up being less costly to go into town and stay at the Pen overnight.

No. You don't actually enter Hong Kong, so no customs inspection. You go through transit security, which is security only, no customs or immigration, then upstairs to the departure level. US-bound planes have another security check at the gate.
