I don't think you've quite grasped the issue here. I didn't ask for a gay bar, or a straight bar, because I didn't care. I asked for a venue. The problem is the tone of the reply, the concierge's assumption that I was straight, and the phrase "many of the clubs are homosexual", which just sounded weird.
