If you have a ticket number NH not only has to transport him, they are liable for secondary expenses incurred due to their refusal to honor transport.
To a European destination, not honoring an etix would not only result in full liability of NH but also incur a hefty fine for committing fraud.
I'd ring CO to fix the situation for the time being. Then demand all expenses back from NH and once they do not react drag them to small claims court. They can point at CO all they want, in order not to honor an etix they need to prove (not just an agent to claim) that they ticket has been canceled or rebooked beforehand.
