Yes, it does!! But I would recommend to get to Syntagma square by metro and then just walk around!!
In order to see Monastiraki-Thisio-The Parthenon & the Acropolis museum-The Columns of Zeus will take you 6-8 hours and I find more convenient to do this on foot (the historical triangle is not open to cars)!! Plus you ll be able to explore the old town and find great spots for coffee and food!!
My recommendations :
Food: Tetradio (in Plaka near Monastiraki)
Coffee: Monastiraki or Thisio
If you really can't do it on foot, you can take a small circus-train outside the station of Monastiraki that goes around the sites (but no stops, no hops)!!
