I gave up on this and pretty much all the airplane rules... Until the airlines are serious about enforcing the rules, I will:

1. Carry on 3 carry on bags
2. Place all three in the OH bin so I have room to stretch out
3. Text on my phone through take off and landing.
4. Use the lav in F because it is closer than the one all the way in the back-(on the rare event I miss an UG and am sitting in Y)
5. Use the lav and rummage around in the OH before they turn off the seatbelt sign.
6. Continue to recline through landing
7. Take off my seat belt immediately upon landing, letting it slap loudly against the side of the seat.
8. Did I mention that I will sit in whoever's seat that I prefer, not necessarily the one I was assigned.

Seriously, either enforce the rules or just drop them. It would be a lot quieter without the PA banter. There is no penalty not to comply and most FA's have given up. Welcome to the new world of entitlement and self importance. Where many people believe that the rules do not apply to them.
