Fascinating. It would seem that the iPhone App has a different way of accessing the check-in system, and for some reason it is less buggy than AA.com!

Next time I do a quick-turn, I will try to check in via the App FIRST and see if I can get all the boarding passes within 24 hours of the first RETURN segment's departure time.
