Refunds due to Irene?

Anyone have any luck getting a refund due to Hurrican Irene? CO only provided refunds to customers if their flight was cancelled or 2+ hours delayed. Unfortunately for my trip to BOS that weekend I booked US outbound Saturday morning (flight flew as scheduled) and was scheduled to return Sunday (all flights cancelled). No point in me flying to BOS and being stuck. I can only assume if I had a RT US ticket I would have got a refund but maybe I am wrong.

I requested a refund and the original CS agent seemed like it would be no problem, but then the refund dept rejected it. I requested it be reviewed since the agent replied that he was sorry but that refund dept rejected it however he did not give a reason. They claim they'll waive rebooking fees so maybe I have a residual credit...how long do I have to book it, 1 year? However, I usually fly CO/UA.

Any tips would be appreciated. And yes I know I booked a non-refundable ticket, but seems like when a Hurricane comes through and makes the trip pointless refund should be given.
