Again, I agree that I wouldn't take a center seat unless I had to. I would take rows 1-3, with a preference towards rows 1 and 2, and I would take a window seat. Specifically 2a or 2k. You get more room, you are not right next to a complete stranger (I am not one to talk to people on a plane, though, except for the FAs which I talk to constantly), and you get to look out the window. You also get more space because of the curve of the aircraft and the fact that there is a little bit of plastic between you and the side of the plane. I personally prefered 2a the most, because I like the non-claustrophobic nature of the seat. You don't have people next to you and you don't have a wall in front of you. Jeez, I feel so anti-social.

You are also not next to the galley, so it is quieter (which is relative, since there is little galley noise to begin with), and you are not next to the loo. In back, *everyone* must walk past you if they have any reason to go to the back of the plane. Disturbing. In front, you have only the FA's walking past when they are serving you or checking on you. Finally, you have a much better chance of being asked to move out of row 1 or a center seat, if two people were separated. Happened on a surprising number of flights.
Again, only my 2 cents worth. Everyone has their own preferences, but those are the reasons behind mine.
