I am Marriott Platinum (and have Marriott credit card) and booked 4 nights at a Residence Inn (2 nights with certificates I earned and 2 nights with points) to attend a wedding. I booked it separately from the wedding party (not under their block of rooms) but the hotel knows I am associated with the party.

They just called saying they need to walk anyone associated with the wedding to another hotel but it is somewhat complicated in my case b/c:
1) I used points and certificates
2) I booked a room that had 2 separate bedrooms and a pull-out bed since 4-5 are staying together and didn't want to share a room

Now that they are walking us to a Courtyard that doesn't have separate rooms/suites, I would have to book twice the amount of rooms or we'd have to share 2 double beds in one room for 5 people.

Plus, as a Platinum the Elite Benefits Guarantee they have to give you $100 and 2 free room certificates I thought if you get walked? I mentioned that and he said he didn't think so - does this only count if you are paying for the room vs. using points/certs? I think it is odd that just a couple days before the wedding they are moving everyone to a hotel a mile down the road...
