Well, it looks like you've answered your own question.

Seriously, you really CAN'T transfer the miles. You can put your Continental membership number on your VS booking and earn CO miles instead of VS ones. Or you can spend your VS miles on CO redemptions.

And then perhaps at some point in the future you MAY be able to spend your CO points on United redemptions.
