OP here...

I did mean the front of the economy cabin, not the fc cabin.

The three of us did an a320 from msy to lax in june, and we were booked in row 6.

Now, I bought all 3 tickets then. We didn't actually fly in them we got the UG to first. My daughter is 2, they let her sit on our lap.

For takeoff I sat in row 6 in economy and walked up there after 10K feet.

Flight attendant told me no need, either keep her on my lap or just take the empty seat in first right behind them.


But no, this time its award seating, not looking for an UG, just want the three of us to sit together in the front of the econ. cabin where many seats are available.
