Chiangi, I mean I want to have the tickets issued and delivered to me earlier, but they said I cannot issue an award ticket more than a month in advance (except if I pay an extra US$40)...in fact one of them even said the tickets won't be issued and delivered until 3 days before departure...I don't stay in HK or even go back to my office every day...if they send the tickets to me earlier I can pick them up from the office any time rather than making a special trip back to the office to pick them up 1 or 2 days before departure...and, since they send it by registered mail, I cannot have it sent to my home because I do not have people at home all the time waiting to sign for the receipt of the tickets...

I understand why I need to issue by a certain deadline, but I don't quite understand why I cannot issue the tickets earlier if I so choose to...especially I assume all the costs of a sooner ticket expiry date, miles non-refundable after tickets issued, etc...

for example, in this case, I want the tickets earlier because (1) some of the tickets are issued from my friends' accounts - not sure if there will be any problem or confusion, (2) we have 7 people total, again, not sure if this will add to the complexity, (3) it is the peak Chinese New Year holidays, I want to have the tickets in hand earlier and can't afford to somehow have the journey messed up in the last minute, (4) we need to apply for visitor visa, and MPO service centre asked me to fax them copy of our HKID, passports, tickets and reservation locators for processing...how are we going to send them copy of the tickets if they do not want to issue them to me ??

anyway, Stars&Stripes, yes, I agree...all MPO and Asia Miles staff are always very polite and friendly...
