Cathay Pacific pilots said yesterday they would seek more talks with the carrier after threatening strike action over "unacceptable" working hours.

"They don't really want anything like this (industrial action) to happen, but they still want a dialogue," with Cathay Pacific's management, a spokeswoman for the Hong Kong Aircrew Officers Association (HKAOA) said.

HKAOA, the representative body for more than 1,100 Cathay Pacific pilots, will vote on whether to take action to enforce its commitment to safe crew rostering practices in an extraordinary general meeting on December 13.

The move could lead to the disruption of flights over the Christmas and New Year holiday period.
