Anyone with experience with SkyWish?

This is one of those requests you wish you did not have to make .

6 year old son of a long time friend with likely terminal cancer. The "make a wish" initiatives have begun among family and friends. Knowing my Delta connections, I was asked to inquire about the program. Best I can tell, Delta provides miles to charities as a way of helping them provide travel services to the people they choose. If I understand correctly, Delta does not vet their own candidates for free travel to Disney which is what we're wanting to do for this boy, his younger sister and the mom and dad. Is this what others understand about their program as well? Is there a published way to petition Delta directly for such a thing?

Does anyone have a name at Delta or with the SkyWish initiative that they might share with me? I have some "friends" on the inside but who knows how long it'll take to get to the right people.

There are so many needs out there, I know. My wife is a one year cancer survivor and I remember well how we noticed along her journey that so many more people were battling cancer than we ever realized. I say that to say I am aware this need is but one of so many.

Trying to get the miles taken care of first and then possibly the trip to Disney covered as well. Family would fly from Atlanta and would have to act within the peaks and valleys of the young boy's chemo/radiation treatments. That 72 hour redeposit rule hurts now more than ever. Imagine planning the trip and he feels great 72 hours out only to have him feel horrible the morning he's supposed to go. Different rant for a different time.

I'm rambling now. ANY help via your experience or a contact name/number/email would be so appreciated!

Thanks!
