Hi Nick,

A current advert for a Beauty Therapist on the VS website has a salary (including shift pay) of £20,200 for a 36 hour week. Meanwhile, David Lloyd are advertising for a Spa Supervisor at the Harbour Club in Chelsea for "between £15 and £18K" for a 40 hour week. The latter has more responsibility, including team and other management roles, although they probably have some opportunity for tips. I can't easily see the David Lloyd benefits package, but all Virgin full time staff get 7 free return flights a year plus a benefits package (looks like one of the Choices type where you pick what is relevant to you up to a certain value and then can add extras).

So I'd say the overall package is pretty good despite the fact that not everybody tips.
