Even though CX's Asiamiles members and SQ's Krisflyer members can now earn 100% mileage in most of their economy class fares, I still see a reluctance in their giving miles willingly and treating all customers equally. Therefore, I am not convinced about investing my travels in both their FFPs. I wasn't when Passages was alive. I am not about to in their own programs now either.
If they differentiate the 100% eligible Y,B,H,W,K,L,M from the 0% ineligible S,O,V,X,Q,G,N in economy class fares, why don't they differentiate the P,F,J,C from the A,D,Z in first and business class fares. I agree that certain tickets are exculded from mileage accrual, namely free award tickets, airline and travel industry employee tickets. All other paid tickets should not be penalized or barred from earning miles because of the class fare paid.
To say, as stated in CX's recent e-mail, "Ineligible classes will remain ineligible as these already benefit from a considerable discount" simply defies the spirit of a FFP and defeats the loyalty of a customer. The "considerable discount" is offered to attract business in the first place. A customer who takes advantage of the "considerable discount" can still be a loyal frequent flyer.
Both CX's and SQ's FFPs seem to me a loyalty airfare program and not a loyalty frequent flyer program. They award those who pay more and not necessarily who flies more. I am all for giving bonuses to those who pay more, but treat all others equally and not any less.
The last time I checked, AAdvantage members can still earn 100% mileage only in CX's Y,B,H economy class fares. All others aren't eligible yet.
