I was equally sceptical about such a short transit time. To reassure you, having made four such connections in the last 3 weeks, to/from long and short haul flights, I can only say that the process was simplicity itself and often left time for a short visit to the nearest lounge.

On arrival in HKG, there is also the advantage that the onboard IFE screens show gates for connecting flights which also allows you to plan ahead in terms of where you're headed next in the terminal and the nearest transit point.
