I'd venture inland a bit if I was you... Death Valley, CA, is massively picturesque and a photographer's dream. As is the road from Monument Valley on the AZ/UT border right the way up to Grand Junction in CO. If you were to do that route, you'd find several days in Moab, UT - taking in Arches NP and Canyonlands NP to be amongst the most scenic and beautiful places you have ever seen. They were/are for me, and keep me coming back.
