i haven't had this problem, maybe it's an isolated situation? i have booked all of my reward stays at spg for may 2012 in a few different countries without any issues. which hotel property is it?
since they're so behind, maybe the hotel will let you at least book a standard room (whatever the rate is) so you have a reservation and then allow it to be switched to points once "it opens up"? i know starwood doesn't normally do this, but maybe they will make an exception? worth a try....hope that helps
