AA Flight Review

Flew last night from SJU to JFK in Y. I've come to expect the worst from AA, so this was a pleasant surprise. As I noted in an earlier post, they reassigned a lot of seats at the last minute for some unknown reason. That split up a lot of families and created a chaotic 40 minute boarding process. FA's were surprisingly patient, cheerful, pleasant and helpful. I agreed to switch seats and they gave me free food in return. Legroom on the 737 is fair, but seats are narrow and cramped. Overhead movie was Thor, which I don't think anyone watched, followed by an episode of Parks and Recreation. They'd be better off skipping the movie and just showing the TV shows. They try to sell you all kinds of ridiculous things, like double miles for $105 or triple for $150, but these are not elite qualifying so what's the point. And there is the amusing $9 option to board in group one. But it was really the crew that made the difference. Like a taste of the good old days of air travel. Never thought I'd be sending an email to AA praising the crew, but actually did that this AM.
