In Shanghai example, it took the maglev train 3.5 minutes to go from 0 to 431km/hr. Kept about 30 seconds they the train has to slow down to approach arrival.

But they have the plan to link the maglev train to Hongqiao Airport and they left the space for the construction in the current city terminal. But there is opposition from the residence on the way. So Shanghai decided some of the city section will be underground instead of flying between buildings. They even had the further plan to link this maglev train to Hangzhou which is about 200 miles away. But the Chinese state high speed rail plan killed the proposal.

However in the speed of Chinese working, you may see the maglev train between Beijing and Tianjin, the first intra city link by 2030.
