Had a 3 day weekend rental the last weekend in August. My bad!I reserved a compact instead of a midsize!(1,2,free;what was I thinking?

)
Yep! The green cone aisle is still there. It is Friday night and there are 3 Impala and 1 Calibre. I get into the Calibre which is just a little bit better suited to my needs. I wait for a while to see if anything more appealing will be brought out. No such luck. I watched two other guys come out to the green cone aisle. The first thinks about taking something from the ES; but finally goes with the silver Impala. The second curses out loud when he comes around the corner and realizes his "choice" is between a blue Impala and a red Impala.

When I started this thread, I really expected that someone would post back that something like this was going on at a National location near them. But now I am begining to think that this is exclusive to ATL.
When I returned the Calibre on Monday night, I realized that the green cone aisle had nothing on it but midsize cars.
I happened to catch one of their young junior managers; but I could not get a straight answer out of him when I questioned him about the existence of the green cone aisle. The "happy" story is that when one reserves an econo car or compact car, they will be getting an upgrade by having to choose from the offerings on the green cone aisle.
But IMHO, if one really wants an econo or compact car @ATL; it's probably better to go with Alamo. Enterprise always gives me Aveos

; but Alamo has got Rios and Accents

.
I've only got 2 more rental to go before I hit Executive, at the end of September. (i'll remember to book midsize

). After that most of my rentals will be ES, and my memories of the green cone aisle will fade into history.
