Plenty of tools out there, such as
Fare Compare YUP/KUP search, Fare Compare itself, ITA matrix, KVS, EF, etc. (as I recall, Fall transcon to BOS was selling ~$1,700 a/i not long ago). They may have also chosen to bump prices up significantly because enough people were buying the lower YUP/KUP fares - and note BDL is much lower than BOS... high demand O/D issues? For over a thousand bucks per person R/T, renting a car in BDL, for example, sounds like it could be a worthwhile approach.

So does one simply search expert-flyer and look for "UP" in the fare basis, or look to see if it books into business? Nothing very reasonable BOS-SFO this fall, as far as I could tell (ca. $3000, vs. $300 in coach + 30k miles +$150 for confirmed upgrade)...
