Max Occupancy and Children - Thai Resorts?
I am trying to plan a trip in Asia (likely Thailand) and am worrying about the max occupancy of hotels. Our family is myself and wife, as well as three young children (6, 5, 1). Many of the resorts in Thailand have a max occupancy of 2 or 3 listed, even though some of the rooms are of a good size (e.g., 500 sq ft or more sometimes). So, I'm sure we'd fit pretty comfortably (like we do in most US hotels). For example, the Renaissance Phuket's deluxe room is almost 500 sq ft, and has a king or 2 doubles, so we'd go for the 2 doubles and also request a crib for the toddler...but not sure that would be allowed?
But, I really don't want to be half way across the world and then told that we cannot stay in the room, or need another room. Anyone have insights/experience/knowledge of how the rules really apply in the case of young kids? Obviously, I realize for adults, the occupancy would apply, but how does it work for kids (and younger ones at that)?
Thanks.
