Ac on my way

Thank you so much for your reply. Always the best way to find out is if it works for someone who has actually used the service.

I have another question you may be able to answer. My daughter will be flying YOW/YUL/LAX all on Air Canada. Does it cover all legs of the trip. For example, if she makes it to Montreal and there is a delay would she be covered even though she started her trip in Ottawa? She will have a cell phone and credit card, but since I will pay for her fare on my credit card; how will I claim any expenses if the is no voucher issued? Anyway, any help you can provide would be much appreciated. Thanks again.

You get a dedicated telephone no. to call and it was picked up by a real person within 3 rings.

One stop - the agent rebooked my flight (offered an option to fly Westjet if I wanted) and booked my overnight hotel. As for meal and transportation, they were on a fixed rate basis, i.e., $X for taxi and $Y for meals.

Here's the catch - OMW credited the appropriate amount (hotel + transporation + meals) to the credit card used to pay for the ticket and insurance. So your daughter must have cash or credit card to pay for the expenses as well as a mobile phone to call the toll free no. There is no voucher, etc. to the hotel. You just pay for it yourself and get reimbursed through the credit card.

In my case, I returned to the airport the next morning on the free hotel shuttle and pocketed the taxi fare!

No need to queue to see an AC agent, it's all done over the phone!

For winter travel, yes, I'd recommend it.
